DEAN'S MESSAGE

The road we took in 1988 as the Department of Business Administration under the DEU Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences with only 20 students, led to the founding of our Faculty in 1992.
The purpose of founding the Faculty was specified as “high-quality student, education and graduate”. In order to fulfill this purpose, certain secondary aims had been specified. Among these were; education in small classrooms; the ultimate technological infrastructure to ensure high-quality education; pay due regard to internationalization as a requirement of education in English; find out the best way of education by trying different education techniques in a flexible way; find and educate the qualified teaching staff appropriate for these purposes. As a matter of course, some values were emphasized while striving to meet these purposes, which include tolerance, unity, entrepreneurship, self-confidence and innovation.
As of today, all our classrooms are equipped with the ultimate technological infrastructure. Publications and conference participations of our faculty members both within our country and abroad increase dramatically. The employment rate of our students within the three months’ period following their graduation has been around 87 %, excluding only the periods of crisis. International collaboration with 50 universities abroad has been launched, which include several double degree agreements. Since four years, we organize the international week, which is on high demand among our partners abroad. Thanks to these events, many of our students have had the chance to do MA abroad with or without scholarship. In order to create positive difference in higher education and to have accreditation among all European universities, our Faculty took part actively in the Bologna process. The transition period to fully adopt the Bologna system has started from the academic year 2011-2012 onwards at all levels and classes.
As a part of Bologna process, as well as to mark our 20th anniversary and to facilitate our relations and communication at national and international level, we have also renewed our website.
We feel the enthusiasm of meeting our 20th anniversary along with novelties and changes, in accordance with our Faculty’s traditions. On this occasion, I would like to thank all my colleagues, who have contributed since the last couple of decades to our Faculty’s performance, which now ranks among the highly esteemed institutions of our country.
With my Best Regrads to all our Stakeholders
Prof. Ceyhan Aldemir, Dean
